At Patricia White’s, our carers are self-employed and can provide live-in home care or visiting care. The nature of the service and the level of care required will affect the pricing structure.

How much does live-in care cost?
The cost of live-in care varies because every arrangement is tailored to the individual. The total will depend on factors such as the level of support required, the carer’s agreed fee and whether any additional services or expenses apply.
At Patricia White’s, clients pay the self-employed carer directly for their services. A separate agency fee is paid to Patricia White’s for arranging suitable introductions and providing ongoing matching support.

What is included in the costs of live-in care?
All the details are agreed in advance so you know exactly where you are before you commit to anything.
Lifetime registration fee
We charge a one-off registration fee once you register with us. This covers our initial consultation, set-up requirements and enables us to maintain an active carer pool to provide care in as little as 48 hours.
Carer fee
We offer guidance around the recommend rates for the carers’ service, but as all Patricia White’s carers are self-employed, they will invoice you directly for their services and you are responsible for paying the carer at the end of each week.
Agency fee
The agency fee is the fee charged by Patricia White’s to ensure we continue to match our client’s with the perfect live-in carers on an ongoing basis.
Travel allowance
This should always be agreed in advance of the assignment. The live-in carer will charge for travel on their arrival and departure; this will be a maximum equivalent of a second class train ticket from London (or their starting location if closer) to the destination; and will be added to their invoice.
Bank holidays
Bank Holiday rates for both carers and Patricia White’s vary, this is similar across the care sector.
Additional components
Occasionally, a little extra help may be required overnight. In these cases, carers will charge a ‘waking fee’. Clients would also typically be expected to cover the cost of carers’ food and household utilities (energy, wifi etc).
